The following songs are the starting points for what I hope will be complete collections, as time allows. All the songs are from different periods and offer vastly different examples of how songs sometimes come together for me in the writing process. Some are examples or foundations of what would eventually become Perpetual Groove staples, others are personal projects that have nothing to do with Perpetual Groove and may never be performed live. Regardless, I hope you enjoy! |

This is a piece of music I composed while watching a film, the title of which I will not immediately expose. But the music does match up deliberately to a specific film. Start by having some fun and try it with other movies and just see what happens. In time, I will reveal some clues, such as the name of the director, to help narrow your search. And finally, specific directions will be made available on how to sync the music with the film. This was a lot of fun to create, so be on the look out for future additions to the collection.
This is a more polished instrumental that I find to be relaxing in nature. Thanks to Albert, who hooked me up with an expansion pack of new sounds (and everyone should know I am a junky for new and different sounds!) this piece is a good part midi-sounding, but my goal was to still achieve a natural realistic sound. I hope you find it as such.
I chose this tune because it is an example of being able to write anywhere at anytime - especially when you have the laptop in tow. I wrote this in Amsterdam in the early spring of this year (2008). I never did get used to the time zone shift and I would wake up at 5AM daily. Not wanting to disturb those sleeping, I just popped in my headphones and started writing. By the way, SC does NOT stand for South Carolina. |
